Book Nook: What Unites Us, by Dan Rather

I’m 43. I’ve had the conversation with some of the elder generations at the newspaper that I was largely the last generation that grew up wanting to be a “newsman”. Kids younger than me really didn’t grow up seeing newspapers or magazines as a possible future. I was lucky to have a couple of strong newsmen to look up to locally. College Basketball Power Ratings

With conference tournament weekends in full swing, I’m finally getting to some power ratings for men’s college basketball. To recap, the are spread equalized. Here were some of the better suggestions: George Lucas (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc.) Reed Hastings (Netflix … Continue reading The Most Important Person In Movies Over The Last 50 Years

Let’s Get Reel: The Batman

I am unabashedly Team Marvel in the Marvel vs. DC battle. But in the way I like chocolate with my peanut butter slightly more than peanut butter with my chocolate. I’m not going to put one brand down to lift the other up. It honestly has never been a better time to be a nerd and I’m all for it in whatever flavor that comes in. As for the Batman franchise specifically, I’m also firmly on the Bale/Nolan series as my favorite among the film realm. Now that the disclaimers are all out of the way, I was able to … Continue reading Let’s Get Reel: The Batman
