Comeback For The Ages: Lady Mules Hold Off Visiting Lions Playing in front of a large, loud crowd on the annual Pink Out night, the Edwards County Lions took their shot at the queens of the BDC…and missed, learning nothing from Omar Little. Edwards County had Chet Snyder’s host Fairfield Lady Mules on the ropes all night, putting them on their heels with a first set win. Mules Get First Running Clock Victory Of Year; Improve To 3-4 The Fairfield Mules have had at least one running-clock win every year since 2007, but had not had one yet this year, entering week seven. They extended that streak to 17 seasons with a 58-14 Homecoming win Saturday afternoon at the Train Yard. Lady Mules Stay Unbeaten In Conference Play With Home Win By all accounts from the Fairfield Lady Mules volleyball faithful, they did not play up to their standards Thursday in a home clash with the Hamilton County Lady Foxes. Yet, in a sign of the heights they have achieved as a team this year, they had an “off night” and still rolled to a 25-18, 25-16 win over a conference rival that came in with a 17-7 record. Mules Snap Losing Skid, Beat Wolves On Flora Homecoming With their backs against the wall coming off three straight losses, Justin Townsend’s Fairfield Mules took a step in the right direction Friday night, spoiling the Flora Wolves’ homecoming game with a 28-14 win. Mules Drop Third Straight; No Wiggle Room Left In Playoff Chase Despite scoring 20 points in a five-minute stretch in the first quarter, Justin Townsend’s Fairfield Mules suffered their fourth loss in five weeks Friday at home, with the visiting Carmi Bulldogs pulling away to a 42-26 victory.
