Mules Golf Wins Triangular

The Fairfield Mules golf squad won a triangular Monday, besting NCOE and Hardin County. The Mules combined for a 176 team score, with Harding County in second at 204 and NCOE in third at 205. Hardin County had the medalist at 38, but then their next best score on the team was a 52. For Fairfield, Maverick Conrad and Noah McElravy each shot 40s. McElravy had one birdie, on the par-4 fifth hole. Noah Barger shot a 46 and Jacob Britt shot a 50 to round out the team score. After going 28-20, the IAW projections are now 98-84 (53.9 percent). In the interest of cleaning this up on mobile browsers, I have removed the ratings and home field advantage from this post. Ratings can be found here. There is only one ranked vs. ranked matchup this week: Virginia at Notre Dame. Vegas has the line at 12.5, with is pretty much identical to my 12.7. The Fairfield Lady Mules tennis squad won twice in doubles play, but was swept in singles action last week and took a 7-3 loss to Carmi-White County. Taking on a solid Bulldog team, the Fairfield Mules suffered a golf loss Wednesday in Carmi, 142-180. Carmi had their top two golfers, Ty Barbre and Oakley Gee, tie for medalist honors Kacee Fulkerson and Kaden Karter both shot 38 to give the Bulldogs the four best scores on the day. Coming off a record-breaking volleyball season that took Chet Snyder’s program to new heights, the Lady Mules had a high bar to clear this year to make some noise. Noise, they have made, as they have jumped out to a 17-1 record as they begin Black Diamond play. They are currently on an eight-match winning streak, including another tournament championship. Mules Keep Shutout Streak Alive; Beat Bearcats 42-0

The Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton Bearcats, coached by former NFL star Anthony Hargrove, have been at the bottom of the Black Diamond for several years now. But Hargrove looks to have them moving in the right direction, as they had allowed just 41 points in their first three games.
