Mules’ Mistakes Prove Crucial In 36-14 Loss To Indians; Fall To 1-3 Looking at the final score, 36-14, it looks like the Fairfield Mules suffered a blowout loss in Johnston City Friday. But the final did not tell the full story of competitiveness in the game. Lady Mules Open BDC Play With Easy Win Over Winless Flora Playing in three tournaments already, the Fairfield Lady Mules 16-2 start to the volleyball season included zero conference games. They finally started their BDC season Thursday, hosting the Flora Wolfgals and crushing the visitors, 25-5, 25-8. Flora is winless on the year at 0-10. Chet Snyder’s Mule gals  held Flora to just four kills in the match, with five of Flora’s 13 total points coming off missed serves by Fairfield. Lady Tigers Clip Fairfield Tennis Girls, 5-4, At Lakeside Courts Hosting one of the top tennis teams in the area, the Fairfield Lady Mules suffered a 5-4 home loss to the Richland County Lady Tigers Wednesday. Fairfield got two wins in singles action, at the number one and six spots, then got two more in doubles play in the one and three spots. Lady Mules Take Third In Silver Fight In Elite Crossroads Tourney Chet Snyder’s Fairfield Lady Mules entered the Crossroads Classic this weekend undefeated with a 13-0 record. Mules Even Record With Road Win At Eldorado; Sesser Clash On Deck Despite jumping out to a 24-6 halftime lead, the Fairfield Mules struggled to put away the host Eldorado Eagles Friday night. The Eagles outscored the Mules in the second half, but when push came to shove, the Fairfield defense made the stops they needed to preserve a 32-18 Fairfield win. Lady Mules Handle Visiting Indians In Midweek County Clash In between weekend tournaments, Chet Snyder’s Fairfield Lady Mules hosted county rival Wayne City Thursday, rolling to a 25-9, 25-9 victory. Fresh off winning their own tournament Saturday, and with the Richland County Tournament on deck two days later, Snyder’s squad was able to stay focused on the task at hand, swinging away against Lamar Choate’s Lady Indians.
