Georgia falls to number six after the loss to South Carolina, but not as far behind as it might seem. They had four turnovers in a game they otherwise were the better team in. We have a shakeup near the top this week. It was time to move Ohio State ahead of Clemson. The Tigers are still very, very good, but the elite play just hasn’t been there. This is a reflection of the performance, not the talent, however. Alabama has become the undisputed number one, with Clemson joining a tight pack of four others vying for 3-6. Here are my power ratings heading into the week four matchups. Ohio State is the big mover among the top 10 so far this year. I have them nearly 3 1/2 points better than my preseason rating. The other top gainer still is Wisconsin, who had moved up to number eight, despite admittedly a week schedule to start the year. That changes this week. Here are my updated power ratings, heading into week 3 of the college season. Among the top 5, LSU moved ahead of Georgia this week and Ohio St moved ahead of Oklahoma. Michigan slid out of the top 10 after barely surviving Army. Since week one, I have improved Wisconsin’s power rating by 5.1 points, moving them to number seven this week. Michigan has dropped 4.7. Maryland has moved up 7.8 points. I have had sizeable drops for Nebraska (4.2), Florida St. (7.8), Virginia Tech (4.6) and Stanford (4.7) as well.
