Wrapping up an undefeated Black Diamond Conference season, Chet Snyder’s Fairfield Lady Mules knocked off visiting Carmi Thursday on Senior Night at the Mule Barn. Fairfield won in straight sets, 25-20, 26-24, fighting off challenges in both sets after early leads in both. That moved the Mules to 10-0 in the BDC-East, giving them the title outright for the first time since 2009. They have won conference 10 times since joining the BDC 17 years ago. With three straight road wins this week, Chet Snyder’s Fairfield Lady Mules have already eclipsed the 20-win mark, and have run their win streak to 13 straight. Aces Fairfield traveled to Mt. They did not play their sharpest game of the year, but an off night for the Fairfield Lady Mules is still good enough for a 25-12, 25-19 home conference win over Eldorado Thursday night. Advancing to the Gold Flight for the first time since joining the Casey-Westfield Invitational, the Fairfield Lady Mules suffered their first loss of the year but bounced back to claim the third-place trophy in the always difficult early-season tournament. Pool Play Fairfield went 3-0 in pool play, starting with two straight sets wins. They beat the Salt Fork Storm, 25-12, 25-14.
