Lady Mules Tennis Nipped By Herrin; Fall To Flora

The Fairfield Lady Mules split singles play with the Herrin Lady Tigers Monday, but dropped two of three in doubles play to suffer a 5-4 loss. Lainie Milner, Brittany Titzer and Tegan Ruhl all picked up singles wins. Milner, playing in the top spot, won 10-3. In the number threes match, Titzer doubled up Jaylan Blake, 10-5. Ruhl cruised to a 10-2 win in the sixes match. Herrin took the top two doubles matches to clinch the victory, with Titzer and Ella Thomas teaming to win the number threes matches for Fairfield, 10-5. We have a shakeup near the top this week. It was time to move Ohio State ahead of Clemson. The Tigers are still very, very good, but the elite play just hasn’t been there.
