Mules Score 40 Straight After Giving Up First Points Of Year

For the last couple of weeks, the dominant talk around the Fairfield Mules has been “the streak”—the four straight games without allowing a point to start the season. It dominated the conversation enough it was becoming a distraction. Distraction no more, as the Carmi-White County Bulldogs scored on their opening drive of the game Friday, and took an 8-0 lead on Justin Townsends’s Mules. The Mules, however, responded with 40 unanswered points and improved to 5-0 with a 40-8 win at the Train Yard. “It was inevitable. Eventually, someone is going to score on you. Our kids responded right back … Continue reading Mules Score 40 Straight After Giving Up First Points Of Year

Lady Mules Win Twice In Conference Play This Week

They did not play their sharpest game of the year, but an off night for the Fairfield Lady Mules is still good enough for a 25-12, 25-19 home conference win over Eldorado Thursday night. That was the second BDC win of the week for Chet Snyder’s squad, after they beat Hamilton County Tuesday on the road, 25-14, 25-11. Coming into the year, the Lady Foxes were thought to be the toughest challenge within conference play for Fairfield. On Thursday, Fairfield jumped out to an 8-1 lead, with Chloe Britton serving seven straight points. In that surge, Britton had two aces, … Continue reading Lady Mules Win Twice In Conference Play This Week

Fab Five Friday 9-27-19

We are back this week after not getting caught up enough last Friday to get a Fab Five Friday put together. So, here are this week’s five songs worth listening to. Lindsey Stirling–Artemis I mentioned a while back I like to listen to some instrumental stuff when I’m reading. My latest go-to has been the Artemis EP from Lindsey Stirling, which is now a full blown album. It is mostly electronic+violin, but has some vocal trance, and guest appearances by Amy Lee and Elle King. Lindsey is well known in the electronica/dance world, and has even penned a NYT bestseller … Continue reading Fab Five Friday 9-27-19

NFL Confidence Pool/Survivor Picks

15 Chargers 14 Rams 13 Patriots 12 Ravens 11 Colts 10 Chiefs 9 Seahawks 8 Texans 7 Falcons 6 Steelers 5 Packers 4 Broncos 3 Giants 2 Cowboys 1 Vikings For Survivor, it’s a “pick on the Dolphins” week again, as I’m taking the Chargers, even if the West Coast/11 a.m. kickoff thing is not ideal. I’m starting to think the Dolphins are going to be the team that eliminates the most Survivor players at some point this season, I just hope it is not this week.
