Last week, the system managed to go 25-19, despite a 1-9 start on Saturday’s games. That moves us to 47-43 overall. Freshmen Mules Maul Tigers In Olney

Traveling to Olney for nonconference action Thursday, the freshman Fairfield Mules football squad moved to 2-0 with a 28-14 triumph over the Tigers of Richland County. Fairfield scored the first 22 points of the game, holding the host offense in check until late in the third quarter. Fairfield took the opening kickoff and drove to the Richland County seven-yard line before fumbling. College Football Power Ratings–Week 3

Here are my updated power ratings, heading into week 3 of the college season. Among the top 5, LSU moved ahead of Georgia this week and Ohio St moved ahead of Oklahoma. Michigan slid out of the top 10 after barely surviving Army. Since week one, I have improved Wisconsin’s power rating by 5.1 points, moving them to number seven this week. Michigan has dropped 4.7. Maryland has moved up 7.8 points. I have had sizeable drops for Nebraska (4.2), Florida St. (7.8), Virginia Tech (4.6) and Stanford (4.7) as well. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are playing the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY on Saturday night. The folks over at Relix are providing a livestream of the show. Showtime 8:15 p.m. central. Isbell is simply fantastic live. I caught him first eight years ago playing a theater show in Carbondale, minus Sadler. Worth The Read: No Depression on The Highwomen Formation

I subscribe to No Depression magazine, which comes out quarterly with a hard copy. I rarely get to read them cover-to-cover, but if nothing else, their covers serve as fantastic art work generally.
