Just a few lineups this week as I get back into the regular flow after vacation, although the Macbook may have bit the dust this week, so that has slowed down the blog production. Continue reading NFL DFS Week 11

Driving down the blacktopDown near Dead Man’s Creek.Where the timbers shiverIn the cold wind of November. Just past the old airport roadBut the planes left this dying townA long, long time ago.And no one blames them anymore. The strip hasn’t been used in years For anything but a petulant party pad Away from the prying eyesOf parental supervision The gaze we used to hateThinking it was holding us backOnly years later did we learnedTo appreciate the guide For we were youngWe were recklessBut in the ways You are supposed to be Until the day Timmy disappearedInto the bottom of the … Continue reading Dead Man’s Creek
I turned 41 Wednesday, so my last full day in California had another touch of fun to it; even if we did get a late start on the shenanigans after working throughout the day. Anyone who knows me knows I … Continue reading Birthday in San Diego
Yeah. I like this town. There is a reason real estate is expensive as can be in San Diego. BTW, the locals don’t appreciate the whale’s vagina references. After several days of eating and drinking like a madman, it was … Continue reading San Diego–Discovered By The Germans In 1904 and By Weez In 2019

Today was our first full day at Disneyland, and as I type this, I am exhausted. More than 20,000 steps, a dozen or so rides. A few good meals. And some okay beer. Staying onsite here in the Grand California … Continue reading Full Day At Disney: More Steps than Step Up 2-5
I had an extended vacation as a kid in California. Ever since, I have had this picture in my head. Remember, nostalgia is undefeated. But, other than a stop over at LAX, I never made it back. Until this week. We flew from St. Louis to San Diego, working our way up the congested I-5 to Anaheim. The first stop was Lucha Libre Taco Shop, just outside of the San Diego airport. Anyone who has seen my VHS collection of lucha libre gets why this was a must stop for me. Plus, solid tacos. Plus, some cool decor. And all … Continue reading Finally, The Weez Has Returned…
I’ve been kicking around the idea of posting one playlist a week to supplement the Friday music posts. With a trip to California on deck and my weekly Friday post in jeopardy due to that trip, I decided now is as good a time as ever. The playlist is the modern blogger’s version of the mixtape. And yeah, I was the kid with blank cassettes trying to time the record button to the radio, hoping the DJ didn’t talk over the intro. Most weeks will be a Spotify list. That is the majority of my music consumption. I may experiment … Continue reading Interesting Air: Playlist of the Week–Going Back To Cali
