TV: Warrior Nun Review

Netflix’s algorithm does a pretty good job of spitting out recommendations for you based on previous watch habits. So, it really should not surprise anyone when it tells me to check out a show about a religious female fighting badass based on a comic book. So, it made the list. Warrior Nun is based on a comic book character created by Ben Dunn, and the Netflix series spans 10 episodes. It begins with the death of Ava Silva and then gets weird from there, following the rebirth of Silva, played by Portuguese actress Alba Baptista. Much of it is filmed … Continue reading TV: Warrior Nun Review

NFL Draftkings Week 10

Here is what I’m looking at this week. Two line-ups once again. On the left is my cash lineup, with GPP on the right. Rolling once again with the rookie QB in both lineups. This is a high-risk, low ownership play as he should be less than five percent owned against a top 10 pass defense from the Dolphins. Mike Davis is almost autoplay at that price with McCaffery out again. And then I’m counting on the Packers and Steelers. I have Jones/Adams in both lineups, as well as Diontay Johnson. Then, in my GPP, I double up on Pittsburgh … Continue reading NFL Draftkings Week 10

Meditation. Yes, Meditation.

I’ve never been someone who meditates. At least, not in the traditional sense. I’ve done some gratitude journaling. I write lyrics and poems sometimes, never to be shared with the world but just to think on life and such. I’ve even done some breathing practices, mostly box breathing. My most often used form of “meditation”, and for the majority of my life, involved headphones and a dark room. Often a glass whiskey. I will literally lay on my basement gym floor and disappear into someone else’s head. It eventually leads to getting into mine, but it starts with someone else’s … Continue reading Meditation. NFL Draftkings Week 9

Here is what I’m looking at this week. Two line-ups once again. On the left is my cash lineup, with GPP on the right. Cook might wind up the most owned player in DFS this week and is a cash-game must. I just didn’t have the guts to fade him in GPP either. Darnell Mooney is not quite a full punt play, but is the What The Heck guy this week at $3,900. He has had at least six points in three straight games and at 3.9k, it doesn’t take much to reach value. Darren Waller is the other guy … Continue reading NFL Draftkings Week 9

Election Day Is Nigh

It has all led to this. Four years of whatever you consider this last four years to be. Most years, we would have a nearly concrete idea Tuesday evening who our next president is going to be. But as we have heard a million times in 2020, these are not normal times. So, let’s take a look at where we stand and what we can expect on Election Day. First, let’s start with National polling averages. 538 has Biden 53.4, Trump 45.4.Realclearpolitics has Biden 50.7, Trump 44.0.NYT Upshot just lists Biden +8. But, as we saw in 2016, National averages … Continue reading Election Day Is Nigh
