Lady Mules Off To Good Start With Home Tournament Victory

Chet Snyder’s Fairfield Lady Mules came into the year with lofty goals. Among them was winning all four of their regular season tournaments. One tournament down, goals still in tact. The Lady Mules went 5-0 Saturday in the Fairfield Mule Kickoff Tournament, avenging a rare summer loss in the championship by winning a three-set battle with NCOE, 25-12, 25-27, 25-23. Chet Snyder’s Fairfield Lady Mules are coming off a historic 31-9 season that included a school record for wins, and their first trip to the volleyball Super Sectional a year ago. They also won the Benton Invitational for the first time ever. They lost six girls from that squad, but returned a solid nucleolus that had expectations still high. College Football Week 1–Friday Slate

Here are the IAW spreads for Friday’s games in week 1. The pick I like the most on this slate is Wisconsin -10.5 on the road. They should be able to get the lead early enough and then ride Taylor to a double-digit win. They return a ton, except for up front on offense, but the Badgers tend to be a reload team at o-line, not a rebuild one. Conrad Ties For Medalist In Olney Golf Quad

Competing in Olney Wednesday, Coach Brent Sutton’s Fairfield Mules finished third as a team in the four-team match, while senior Maverick Conrad finished in a three-way tie for low score on the day. Conrad tied Charleston’s Taylor Drake and Richland County’s Mitchell Tolliver with a 39. Drake hit a triple bogey on the first hole, but shot pars on seven of the eight other holes. Conrad avoided any disastrous holes, shooting bogeys on holes three, four, six and eight, with pars on the other five holes.
