Fairfield senior Maverick Conrad shot a 76 Monday in the West Frankfort Sectional, qualifying for the State Tournament in Bloomington, while junior teammate Noah McElravy missed advancing by one stroke.

Carmi won the team title with a 301, becoming the first Bulldog team to win a golf sectional since winning five straight from 1975 to 1979. They were led by Oakley Gee, who became just the second Bulldog to win back-to-back Sectional titles. Gee shot a 66. He finished sixth at state last year as a freshman.
McElravy shot a 79 Monday, missing the cut by one stroke at it took a 78 to advance. Conrad advanced to play in the State tournament at Prairie Vista Golf Course on Friday and Saturday.
