Lady Mules Topped Twice In Tennis Action

The Fairfield Lady Mules tennis squad won twice in doubles play, but was swept in singles action last week and took a 7-3 loss to Carmi-White County. Picking up doubles wins for Fairfield were Karigan Harvey and Brittany Titzer in the number one slot; and Alli Hooper and Adriana Munoz in the number three slot. Mules Golf Splits Two Matchups

Taking on a solid Bulldog team, the Fairfield Mules suffered a golf loss Wednesday in Carmi, 142-180. Carmi had their top two golfers, Ty Barbre and Oakley Gee, tie for medalist honors Kacee Fulkerson and Kaden Karter both shot 38 to give the Bulldogs the four best scores on the day. Fairfield was led by Noah McElravy, who shot a 39. Noah Barger shot a 45, Chase Hallam and Jacob Britt each shot 48s and Zach Gualdoni shot a 50. Coming off a record-breaking volleyball season that took Chet Snyder’s program to new heights, the Lady Mules had a high bar to clear this year to make some noise. Noise, they have made, as they have jumped out to a 17-1 record as they begin Black Diamond play. They are currently on an eight-match winning streak, including another tournament championship. Mules Keep Shutout Streak Alive; Beat Bearcats 42-0

The Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton Bearcats, coached by former NFL star Anthony Hargrove, have been at the bottom of the Black Diamond for several years now. But Hargrove looks to have them moving in the right direction, as they had allowed just 41 points in their first three games. There was a beautiful football game to watch last night. No, not the Minshew Mania Bowl, although that can be a different type of fun, because the Minshew Mustache Mafia is going to be a thing if I have anything to do with it. Mules Lose Tiebreaker To Aces; Playing Without Conrad

The Fairfield Mules golf squad were playing shorthanded at home Tuesday, but still tied the visiting Aces of Mt. Carmel. The away team won the tiebreaker, however, with a better fifth score. The Mules were without senior Maverick Conrad, out with a low back injury. Either Conrad or junior Noah McElravy has led the Mules scoring in every match this year. Here are my power ratings heading into the week four matchups. Ohio State is the big mover among the top 10 so far this year. I have them nearly 3 1/2 points better than my preseason rating.
