The Fairfield Mules golf squad were playing shorthanded at home Tuesday, but still tied the visiting Aces of Mt. Carmel. The away team won the tiebreaker, however, with a better fifth score.
The Mules were without senior Maverick Conrad, out with a low back injury. Either Conrad or junior Noah McElravy has led the Mules scoring in every match this year.

With Conrad out, McElravy stepped up and took medalist honors, shooting a 36 to win by five strokes. He had bogeys on three and four, but bounced back with birdies on the par-5 seventh hole and the par-4 eighth hole. He finished up with a bogey on nine.
Chase Hallam shot a 43, while both Jacob Britt and Noah Barger shot 48s.
Mt. Carmel’s top four shot 41-43-45-46, giving both teams a 175 on the day. Their fifth shot a 48, while Fairfield’s fifth and final golfer, Zach Gualdoni, shot a 58.
For the Lady Mules, Katelyn Norton shot a 52.
