






The Fairfield Mules made their home golf debut Wednesday at the Fairfield Public Golf Couse, hosting both Edwards County and Eldorado.
Edwards County, in their first season of a revived program, had the individual medalist on the day, with Cy Nelson carding a 42 to lead all golfers. The Lions won the meet with a team score of 188. Eldorado was second with 211 and the host Mules were third with 223.
Avery Gardner led Fairfield with a 43, one stroke off the medalist pace. Ethan McElravy shot a 50, followed by Grant Halbert and Brock Johnson, both with 64s.
Fairfield’s Sarah Ruhl was medalist in the girls meet, shooting a 56. Samantha Coomer carded a 63, while Lela Duckworth finished with a 60 and Eden Duckworth had a 61.
Fairfield’s season debut was last Thursday in Mt. Carmel, where they played 18 holes. Fairfield took two Mules and two Lady Mules to the competition. Gardner shot an 84 and McElravy shot a 96 for the boys. Ruhl shot a 121 and Coomer shot a 129 for the Lady Mules.
