Aces football vs. Casey, 10-6-23

With the Mules playing a Saturday game this week, my wife Sarah wanted to attend the Mt. Carmel Aces game Friday night to show support for her staff there, and she asked me to tag along to get some shots of the WGH staff on the sidelines. This is how we do date night. I think I counted eight WGH employees on the sidelines, from coaches to doctors to athletic trainers, so this gallery will have more sideline shots than I typically shoot.

You know if you put me near a game, I’m going to shoot the thing. So I did. I got treated to a pretty fun game to watch and shoot in a little more relaxed manner than usual, not doing photos and play-by-play stats at the same time. For most of the game, the Casey-Westfield Warriors looked like the better team, but the Aces made enough plays to pull out a go-ahead field goal in the final seconds for a three-point win. Casey is a very good 1A team, and probably the best small school squad I have seen this year as I don’t get to see many non-BDC games.
