Review

Thanks a Thousand was a book club pick. it was the same book club that picked The Covenant of Water, who was a tremendously long book. I think this one was picked to make up for that, as it is incredibly short. Gratitude journaling is not a new concept, either to me or the rest of the world. I’ve never doubted the benefits of it. As someone who consumes a fair of amount of health and wellness podcasts, the ideas, theories and benefits are something I am versed in.

I say all that to say, this book was mostly, meh. It was more a podcast than a book. I had that thought before I even realized this was a TED series book. There is some niche stuff in the concept and the adventure style practice, but the story telling was flat as a story book and the science was lacking as a self-help type book. It walks between the two, I guess, and thus misses on both for me. The audio version was just a little more than three hours, so you can decide if it is worth your time. I’d call it a pass, however.
