Fab Five Friday–Aug. 2, 2024

Here are this week’s five songs worth listening to.

Rakim–Sign of Se7en ft. Prodigy, Method Man, X-Raided, Big Twins

Wu is for the kids.

Max McNown–Fishing Line

Really like this dude this year.

American Aquarium–Messy As A Magnolia

New American Aquarium. I’m gonna share. Thems the rules. After a couple dozen passes through the new album, I’m leaning toward this one being my favorite.

Caleb Montgomery–Food Stamps Don’t Buy Flowers

This was a random discovery from Spotify. Certainly has a “trying to be Tyler” tinge to it, but a solid effort. Nothing wrong with sounding like one of the best.

Caleb Caudle–Knee Deep Blues

I’m a sucker for the tin can vocal sound.

We’ll be back with five more next week. Until then, remember the immortal words…
“Songs are really just interesting things to be doing with the air.” Tom Waits
