Review
I have read the comic book version of this story run, originally published back in 1984. This came out of the much maligned Jim Shooter era of Marvel and was mostly a tool to drive toy sales, but it somehow has stood the test of time as far as popularity. I have the full 12-issue set, with the Black-suit Spiderman #8 being the most valuable of course.
So I came into the audio version of this already very familiar with the storyline, and still enjoyed this version of the story. The production featured a large cast voicing the characters, not one reader doing multiple voices. The production value helped the mostly cheesy story seem not so cheesy. I would “read” other classic storylines this way if they are like this.
