Flora Wolves Heading To Third Round

I started my morning in Peoria today, covering the cross country State meet. When I plugged in home in the GPS, I realized I could make the Flora-Pana game right at kickoff. So I decided to stop by and shoot a little bit of it.

I’m a Flora alumnus, but I’ve been in Fairfield long enough now I breathe red and black. Still, I grew up with Coach Tackitt and considered him one of my best friends. He is also a member of the Certified Good Dudes of the Planet club. I also have reached the age where a good chunk of these kids playing are the kids of old friends and classmates. That one sneaks up on you. I wanted to be there as the Wolves entered uncharted territory. As long as the Wolves are not playing the Mules, I will be rooting for them.

That decision to stop worked out well, as I got to watch an incredible game with a fantastic finish. Although I do have to say I enjoyed seeing this game-winning field goal a lot better than the one I watched last week. Not sure why they kicked on fourth down though, instead of waiting for fifth down.

Was a fun game to shoot. Now, to convince the wife to road trip to Maroa next week.
