Venom: The Last Dance

These are not great, but still enjoyable. Plus, my wife likes these more than most other comic book movies, so it gets an extra star for that. 3 of 5 stars.

Decided to watch this after reading the comics. Very, very good and much easier to follow than some of the Miller page layouts.

Vinland Saga, Season 1

Watched the first 24 episodes of this. There are another 24 in season 2 I will likely circle back around to quickly. This is one of my favorite animes yet. Decent change my future gym logo for Asgard Athletica has Thorkell in it.

Yellowstone, Season 5

Still think I like the last 3 seasons of this show much more than the first two. Finally gave some depth to some very unlikable characters early on. I’m good with how this one ended.

Dragon Ball, Episodes 1-13

Watched the first 13 episodes of the classic episodes from 1986, which was the conclusion of the first saga. Very cheesy, very perverted. Still, I plan on going back to watch later episodes mostly just to get to the Dragon Ball Z years.

Love Kate Beckinsale, but meh. 2 of 5 stars.

Good enough I put Season 2 back in my watch list to come back around to at some point.

Seven Deadly Sins, Season 1

This was pretty fun and I plan on circling back around to more seasons later. First anime series I have watched in a few years, if you don’t count the Marvel cartoons.

Tenet

I can see why people did not like this one after all the hype. It is a cool concept that is hard to execute. Watching this for the first time well after it came out, I knew it did not meet the hype, thus I think it met my expectations after all.

M.O.D.O.K. Season 1

This was fun for me and I wish we would have gotten more than one season, but also can see why we did not. But also, I’ll watch anything nerdy with Patton Oswalt involved. Love that dude.

Lucifer, Seasons 1-3

Watched the first three out of six seasons of this. Ready to move on to something else. Was trying to stick around long enough to see Dennis Haysbert playing God, but didn’t make it that far.

I had seemed to remember hearing not good things about this one when it came out, so I never added it to the list. Then I saw it was leaving in a few days, so I decided to give it a shot. It exceeded my low expectations and wasn’t bad at all.

This one got added to my playlist entirely for Timberlake, but Ryder Allen was absolutely great in this as the kid. I went into this thinking redemption story and instead got a ton of hearty, heavy performance.

Bo Burnham: Inside

I remember showing my severely backlogged Watchlist to someone once and they saw Inside on there and they told me it would require a certain headspace to enjoy. I didn’t understand what they meant at the time. I get it now. This is not comedy, even when it is funny. It is an exploration using humor. This is darkness in a LED-lighted mask.

The Bear, Seasons 1-3

Binged all three seasons thus far. Quick thoughts: I want the restaurant to fail. I want Carmy to be alone, without Claire. I want Syd to go be Syd somewhere else. I hope Marcus and Sweeps do okay in whatever. And I want this show to end so I can get a spinoff show of just the Faks. Heck, call it Just The Faks, Ma’m.

Deadpool & Wolverine

Absolutely loved this. The plot was a quirky mess, but these movies are not suppose to be story driven plots. They are fun, action, sometimes murder porn, absolutely hilarious and a commentary on larger things in a very tongue in cheek way. Throw in some nostalgic cameos and call backs, Hugh Jackman as the perfect foil off Reynold’s ridiculousness. Perfect? Probably not. Perfect in the moment? Absolutely.

Flame on!

Fun in a quirky way. Nothing complex, but Gleeson was pretty funny here and had fun chemistry with Cheadle when they were together.

Mortal Kombat (2021)

This wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t call it good either, but I would say it was better than the old school one. Plus, it was cool seeing Joe Taslim again right after watching Warrior.

Warrior, Seasons 1-3

Binged all three seasons of this. This was fun. Based off Bruce Lee’s pitch that eventually became Kung Fu and involving his daughter Shannon Lee. Lots of fights, loyalty, fights, sex and fights. I would compare it to Banshee, with Banshee getting a slight edge in a world where you could only watch one. Ending did feel a bit rushed, as if it was not renewed after season three production was near complete.
