I mentioned yesterday on Twitter I don’t follow the NFL Draft nearly as close as I use to. I am no longer in a dynasty league I did for years that forced me to study the draft. Yearly, we were drafting 5th and 6th rounders in that deep dynasty, so you had to study the draft intently. I’m still in a dynasty league, but a different one that does require the same kind of depth or attention.
I also can’t bet the draft the way I did a few years ago. Most of the books with decent Draft offerings will not let me bet much anymore. I have been limited by a few books at this point, so I don’t put as much time pouring over menus on sites that won’t let me bet more than $5. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Draftkings.
Still, I am enough gambling circles I have picked up some tidbits along the way. I still managed to get in a few bets. With that in mind, here is what I have in pocket.

Quick Thoughts On Some Skill Guys
Quarterbacks–I have Ward as the one. I have Sanders and Dart as 2a and 2b, pretty close to each other. I’m not sure if that is because I have Sanders lower than most or Dart higher. I think both are borderline first rounders. Ward is probably not a typical #1 overall QB, but this is how the NFL works, so…
Running Backs–In the production vs. athleticism debate, I lean more toward athleticism at the position. I look at things like Speedscore, raw athletic score, vertical, and such. The two Ohio State running backs are the most athletic in the class-TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins. Surprisingly, neither scored well in Aaron Schatz’ Backcast metric. Jeanty and Hampton scored well enough to not be disqualified for me. I use some athletic scores as a decision tree: if you clear this number, you are okay. They do. BackCast has a top five of Jeanty, Hampton, Skattebo, Giddens and Martinez. Giddens in the 10th RB in the Big Board I am about to post below.
Wide Receivers–Here, I slide more to the production side than athleticism. Yards per catch, market share of team passing, etc. The wildcard in the group is obviously Travis Hunter, who I believe should be a fulltime cornerback and a packages wide receiver at this level. I think I like Golden over McMillan and have Burden over Egbuka. This is a weak class.
Tight End–Both Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland are legit first rounders. I’m hoping Taylor is as well as you can see above.

Consensus Big Board
Speaking of the a Consensus Big Board. Here you go.
May the odds be ever in your teams favor, and may they not draft Jamarcus Russell.
