Fab Five Friday–Oct. 9, 2020

Here are this week’s five songs worth listening to.

Amanda Shires–The Problem ft. Jason Isbell

A new single from our favorite music couple. This one starts off especially cool for one particular reasons.

“Remember Katie White.” Yes, yes I do.

Seriously, how perfect are these two together? Especially when they write relationship songs.

Nicholas Jamerson–Linda James

This is seriously one of my favorites yet of 2020. It has been on repeat for two weeks now. It’s just one of those advice songs that comes along at the right time. If ever there was a time that needed a good advice song, this is it. Good advice, a frollicking medley and an acoustic closure. Yep. Wheelhouse.

Mystix–Bottle of McCoy ft. Charlie McCoy

Speaking of wheelhouses, here is another song about whiskey and despair. I have a playlist for that, because of course I do. This was the newest addition. Country music for people who need to drink, not for those who want to.

Steve Aoki & Timmy Trumpet–Tarontino ft. Starx

If Quentin Tarantino and Paul Heyman got together, did a shit ton of mescaline for old time’s sake and decided to make an anime video, this would be that video and theme song.

Lil’ Duval–Don’t Worry, Be Happy ft. T.I.

I honestly can’t decide if I like this, let’s call it an homage, or not. Let’s just call it interesting and go about our days, okay?

We’ll be back with five more next week. Until then, remember the immortal words…
“Songs are really just interesting things to be doing with the air.” Tom Waits
